Model 60C and LP gas conversion

I have LP gas and have been angsting over how I'm going to get my Model B converted to LP. Since the LP burners/pans are scarce, it's starting to look like I would need to do as the Owner's Manual says and cut the tips off the burner chimneys for LP, since the shorter burners can't be found. I kind of hate to do this - seems to me to be butchering a classic. :-(

So, here's my dilemma: I have a chance to buy a cute little yellow 60C for a great price (and it's local, so no freight!) Can anyone tell me what is involved with converting this natural gas stove to LP? Are the mixer pins "universal", and will it require me to swap any other parts? (besides the orifices, I suppose.) The burners look shorter, like the ones recommended by the manual for the Model B for LP, so I was hoping that it was just a matter of a minor conversion.

I would hate to be buying another stove that I can't convert (my husband would kill me), so wanted your opinions first.

i have a white 61c that came with universal mixing. just tighten the collar down and youre good to go. the colored stoves are harder to find. id buy the 60c and sell the b on ebay. just my opinion.
todd has a very nice service manual for the c stoves. might want to get one and bring it with you to the stove to help figure out how its set up.

I have decided to stick with my Model B. I love the classic look of the old highback and fold-down top. We are building a log home that will have a rustic/vintage look, so I felt that the Model B fits better with that genre. Also, the night before I committed to buying the Model 60C, I found a back page in the Owner's Manual that says the Model BZ's have universal burners/pans, and I have found (so far) that the BZ parts interchange with the B - at least that was true with the broiler box I bought. So I will chase that idea down instead.

If anyone is interested in buying the yellow 60C (it's in the Los Angeles area), the owner is only asking $400 for it. It doesn't have any of the pots and has some other minor flaws (all overcomable), but according to the owner, seems to be in good condition overall. Here's the link to his ad:
